REAL-TIME MONITORING OF BIODIESEL PRODUCTION USING RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY
Main Article Content
Abstract
Biodiesel production presents a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels, derived from the transesterification of oils and fats. This study reviews the effectiveness of Raman spectroscopy as a non-invasive tool for real-time biodiesel analysis. Based on Alisson Marques de Miranda's work (2014), various esters were characterized, revealing differences in spectral intensities and frequencies influenced by physical state and molecular structure. The findings facilitate the identification of biodiesel composition, demonstrating the technique's importance for quality control.
Keywords: Biodiesel; Transesterification; Raman spectroscopy.
