EXPERIMENTAL DETERMINATION OF HEAD LOSS IN A 45º BEND DURING SOYBEAN FLOW BY DILUTE PHASE IN A PNEUMATIC CONVEYOR
Main Article Content
Abstract
The use of dilute phase pneumatic transport has significantly increased in the transportation of pellets, sawdust, and grains due to its low acquisition and maintenance costs. However, precise data on pressure drop, friability, among others, are necessary for the implementation of this type of transport. This study aimed to determine the pressure loss curve at different mass flow rates and flow velocities in a 45º bend. The experimental unit was built using acrylic ducts with an internal diameter of 117 mm. The solid used in this study was soybean, transported by air. The results demonstrated the characteristic pressure drop curve in the fitting.
