EXPERIMENTAL DETERMINATION OF HEAD LOSS DURING SOYBEAN FLOW BY DILUTE PHASE IN A PNEUMATIC CONVEYOR
Main Article Content
Abstract
Dilute phase in pneumatic conveying is widely used due to it’s low acquisition and maintenance costs, making it ideal for transporting pellets, sawdust, and grains. The implementation of this type of transport requires precise data on pressure drop and solid concentration profiles. This study aimed to determine the pressure drop curve at different mass flow rates and flow velocities in a straight section. The experimental unit was constructed using acrylic ducts with an internal diameter of 117 mm. The solid used in this study was soybean grains, transported by air. The obtained results demonstrated the characteristic pressure drop curve along the pipeline.
