EXPERIMENTAL DETERMINATION OF CONVECTION COEFFICIENTS IN A SEMI-INDUSTRIAL DOUBLE PIPE HEAT EXCHANGER FOR 0.5% CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE SOLUTIONS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The convective heat transfer coefficient, determined experimentally, is fundamental in heat transfer and crucial for the thermal design of heat exchangers. This work aimed to obtain the internal convection coefficient of the carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) solution in a semi-industrial double tube heat exchanger, varying the temperature and flow rate of the CMC solution. The coefficient was obtained using thermal balances. The results show that the internal convection coefficient of the solution, when exposed to low temperatures, reaches a low efficiency number.
