OFF-LABEL USE OF VYVANSE FOR WEIGHT LOSS AND ITS EFFECTS ON THE HUMAN BODY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work involves the analysis of the irrational and off-label use of the substance Lisdexamfetamine (a powerful CNS stimulant, used to treat, mainly, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder-ADHD), in order to quickly lose weight, and its relationship with the possible emergence or worsening of illnesses, such as hypertension, insomnia and cardiac arrhythmia. Furthermore, the article contains an allusion about the search for the “perfect body”, shaped for the most part by social networks, making it possible to conclude that the pharmacist plays a fundamental role in guiding the patient to the rational use of this medication, so that greater risks health do not occur.
Keywords: amphetamine; obesity; aesthetic pattern; adverse reactions.
