MAPPING OF MACROALGAE FROM SANTOS-SP BY THE HERBARIA OF BRAZIL

Abstract

– Physical and virtual herbariums are places that store collected species and their information, such as vouchers containing year and collector. This information is fundamental for researchers who develop new projects, based on species already collected around the world. One of the tools of virtual herbaria is the mapping of specific groups, allowing research in all herbariums in the world that have the desired organism. Thus, this work performs a mapping of the macroalgae of Santos waterfront that were stored in ten herbariums in Brazil, consulted in this work. The goal is to encourage future collections to feed databases and follow the marine flora of the Santos waterfront.
