Abstract
Solar radiation affects people's skin at different levels. The concerns are not only aesthetic, but mainly due to the damage caused to the nature of the tissues and also to physiology and biochemistry. The study is characterized as a bibliographic review, prioritizing prominent articles and searching for keywords. Among the consequences of solar radiation we can mention: protein oxidation, damage to mtDNA, changes in the thickness of the epidermis, among others. With the habits cultivated today, protection against UV rays is encouraged through sunscreen, caps and umbrellas.
