ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS TO ALLEVIATE CLIMACTERIC SYMPTOMS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The climacteric marks the end of a woman's reproductive phase, characterized by the cessation of menstruation and a drop in the production of estrogen and progesterone. The objective of this research was to identify the alternative treatments that women use and what benefits the treatments provide. The methodology adopted was through field research with a written questionnaire approved by the ethics committee to collect empirical data directly from the target population. The results obtained among a number of 40 women aged 40 to 60 years, most of them married and with higher education, within an average socioeconomic class. It was concluded that the majority are knowledgeable on the subject and use alternative methods such as herbal medicines, which were the most cited.
