DETERMINATION OF METALS IN WATER USING SWAB EXTRACTION
Main Article Content
Abstract
For water to be considered potable, it must meet strict standards for the absence of pathogenic microorganisms and bacteria. In addition to these microbiological criteria, it is equally important to control the content of metallic elements, especially heavy metals, which, due to their dilution in the volume of water and because they accumulate in living beings, require careful evaluation, requiring detection methods that guarantee precision and reliability. The objective of this work is to develop and adapt organic material rods with ion exchange material to determine the content of metals, including nickel, cadmium, mercury and lead, in water samples. In addition, effective methods for monitoring these pollutants in streams and rivers are also being considered.
