Abstract
Anxiety and Depression are the main symptoms presented when talking about mental health in the academic environment. The study aimed to identify the prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms in Physiotherapy students. The results of 85 students from the Physiotherapy course at Universidade Santa Cecília (UNISANTA) were analyzed in a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional, quantitative study. The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD-S) questionnaire was used to collect information. The HAD-S results showed that 43 students were classified as having probable anxiety (n=43; 50.59%) and possible depression (n=47; 55.29%), that is, there was a large percentage of students of the physiotherapy course who presented symptoms that indicate the likelihood of anxiety and the possibility of depression.
