MONITORAMENTO DA AVIFAUNA URBANA: UM ESTUDO COMPARATIVO NO ORQUIDÁRIO MUNICIPAL DE SANTOS

Abstract

This work presents a comparative analysis of urban avifauna in the Orquidário Municipal de Santos, highlighting its importance as a refuge for birds in an urban environment. The objective was to document changes in species composition over more than two decades, using four surveys carried out in different years. The methodology included systematic observations with variability in frequency and duration. 90 species were recorded, with 28 of them maintaining a constant presence and 17 species were no longer recorded and 5 new species were observed. The results highlight the need for continuous monitoring and conservation actions in the park.
