Abstract
This study addresses the concept of euthanasia and its history, focusing on Spain's legislation with a detailed analysis of Organic Law 3/2021. The methodology included research on platforms like Scielo and Google Scholar, as well as consultations of legislation available on Planalto.gov and the Boletín Oficial del Estado, along with data from the Spanish Ministry of Health's report, using terms related to euthanasia. The research explores ethical and legal aspects, along with the requirements and process, highlighting the role of the Commission of Guarantee and Evaluation in the procedure. The results reveal that the law seeks to balance the principle of life and individual autonomy, concluding that the legislation aims for a fair and comprehensive approach to the issue.
