REQUALIFICATION OF THE IMMIGRANT HOSTEL THROUGH THE CREATION OF A CULTURAL CENTER

Abstract

The growing urbanization of cities requires urban planning that meets the needs of different social groups. Many degraded areas become the focus of revitalization, which is essential for revitalizing unused spaces, preventing uncontrolled city growth, and restoring the dignity of residents. This work proposes the requalification of the Hospedaria dos Imigrantes in Santos, SP, through the creation of a cultural center. The project aims to promote art, culture, and Community interaction, contributing to the quality of life of the local population. The research is based on documents, studies of similar projects, urban diagnostics, and analyses of relevant legislation.
