STUDY AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE GAS LIQUEFACTION PROCESS
Main Article Content
Abstract
With the evolution of manufacturing processes, companies are seeking more efficient systems that ensure strict control over both product quality and employee safety. This control spans from the arrival of raw materials to the completion of production. For industries requiring high precision, the adoption of advanced technologies becomes essential. In this context, systems monitored by Model Predictive Control (MPC) allow for detailed and accurate tracking of each production stage. This article analyzes the economic benefits achieved by a company in the Manaus Industrial Hub through the implementation of MPC in an air separation plant, highlighting the reduction in electricity consumption and process optimization. The results demonstrate the system's effectiveness, not only in reducing energy consumption but also in improving production control and ensuring machine safety. The adoption of MPC yielded satisfactory results, with a noticeable return on investment in the short term, leading to a greater capital reserve that enabled further investment in improvements.
