COMPATIBILIZATION OF BOPP/ALUMINIZED PET MULTILAYER FILM WASTE FOR APPLICATIONS IN CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study analyzes the compatibilization of multilayer film waste of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and aluminized polyethylene terephthalate (PET), aiming at recycling in line with circular economy principles. Generated mainly by the packaging industry, these wastes are difficult to separate, limiting recycling. The objective was to evaluate the influence of compatibilizers on mechanical and processing properties. The wastes were collected, ground, processed by extrusion and injection with different additives, and tested for tensile, impact, hardness, and flow. Results showed relevant improvements, especially in impact and flow, enabling identification of suitable formulations. It is concluded that compatibilization is a promising strategy to recycle and valorize such materials.
