PHARMACEUTICAL CARE IN DRUGSHOPS FOR CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER
Main Article Content
Abstract
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by deficits in communication, social interaction, and behavior, requiring multidisciplinary treatment. This study aimed to assess the knowledge of community pharmacists regarding medication dispensing for patients diagnosed with ASD. A questionnaire containing 15 questions was administered. Results show that 90.6% are female, aged between 30 and 40 years (56.28%), and 59% have not had access to technical information or training on ASD. Continuous training and the application of pharmaceutical care protocols are essential to improve care for pediatric patients with ASD, thus contributing to greater safety, therapeutic efficacy, and a better quality of life for patients and families
