Abstract

Given the growing global concern about the presence of pharmaceuticals and personal care products in aquatic ecosystems, several studies have highlighted the potential impacts of these substances on aquatic life. This raises the need to assess the environmental toxicity of various types of medications. In this context, this study aims to conduct an ecotoxicological analysis of five corticosteroid drugs using toxicity prediction models using ECOSAR v1.11 software. The results were classified according to European Directive 96/67/EEC. The results revealed worrying effects, especially regarding chronic toxicity, as four of the five compounds analyzed exhibited significant toxic potential
