THE IMPACT OF SEX EDUCATION ON CHILDREN`S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Abstract
Child development is influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors, with sexual education being an essential tool for the comprehensive development of children and the promotion of their health in all aspects. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of nursing professionals to sexual education in the child context, through a narrative literature review in databases such as SciELO and BDENF, selecting 10 articles published in the last ten years. The results indicate that sexual education helps in the prevention of violence, sexually transmitted infections, and teenage pregnancies, as well as promoting self-esteem, body awareness, respect for diversity, and healthy relationships. The role of nurses, schools, and public policies is highlighted in the construction of inclusive, continuous, and integrated educational approaches from childhood
