ORGAN DONATION: NURSING TEAM ASSISTANCE TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY

Abstract
Organ donation is a complex process that involves technical, ethical, and emotional aspects, requiring nurses to be prepared to support grieving families. This study, based on a narrative literature review, aimed to analyze the importance of nursing care in approaching families, highlighting communication strategies, humanization, and maintenance of the potential donor. The methodology included the selection of articles from national and international databases published between 2010 and 2025. Results showed that nurses play a key role in reducing family refusals, fostering trust, and ensuring the viability of organs. It is concluded that qualified and empathetic nursing practice strengthens the donation process and increases the chances of successful transplants
