Abstract

Environmental education outreach activities were carried out in the Barra do Una Sustainable Development Reserve (Peruíbe/SP), aiming to raise awareness among children and young people about the ecological importance of venomous fauna, with the goal of demystifying beliefs and reducing frequent accidents in the region. In addition, interactive educational workshops were held at the community center over two days, featuring games, educational materials, bird watching, and presentations of aquatic fauna specimens from the UNISANTA zoological collection. The results showed an increase in knowledge, a reduction in fear of venomous animals, and an appreciation of local biodiversity, strengthening community safety and a sense of environmental responsibility
