THE IMPACT OF THE USE OF CAFFEINE AS A PRE-WORKOUT ON THE ROUTINE OF PHYSICAL EXERCISERS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to evaluate the impact of caffeine use as a pre-workout supplement on the routine of physical exercise practitioners. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted based on articles published between 2015 and 2025 in the PubMed database. The main results showed that, in some cases, the thermogenic effect of caffeine may contribute to improved physical performance. However, its use can be associated with side effects such as anxiety and increased diuresis. It is concluded that caffeine supplementation as a pre-workout, in both men and women, can be beneficial when used within the recommended safe doses (3–6 mg/kg/day).
