THE IMPACT OF HIDRADENITIS SUPPURATIVA SYMPTOMS ON QUALITY OF LIFE: PATIENTS' PERSPECTIVE

Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the impact of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) symptoms on quality of life. A descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional online study was conducted with 98 participants who completed a characterization questionnaire and the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). Data were analyzed in Excel® using means, standard deviations, and frequencies. The mean age was 27.95 years, with a predominance of women (93.88%). Pain was reported by 70.41% and associated with inflammation in 83.67%. The mean DLQI was 20.36, indicating an extremely significant impact, especially on daily activities and symptoms. It is concluded that HS symptoms, especially pain, negatively affect quality of life, with a particular emphasis on psychosocial impacts
