CAREGIVERS' KNOWLEDGE OF CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY REGARDING HIP DISPLACEMENT AND THE IMPORTANCE OF HIP SURVEILLANCE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a condition that can result in hip dislocation. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the knowledge of caregivers of children with CP about this condition and its main preventive practice—Hip Surveillance. This is a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study involving 10 caregivers of children attending the physical therapy clinic at Santa Cecília University. Numerical data were expressed as mean and standard deviation, and nominal categorical data were presented as absolute and relative frequencies. This study revealed that most caregivers lack knowledge about Hip Surveillance, despite demonstrating familiarity with the term "Hip Dislocation."
