CHALLENGES AND STRATEGIES IN THE PREVENTION OF CERVICAL CANCER
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cervical cancer (CC) remains a major public health issue, with high morbidity and mortality rates, especially in developing countries. This study aimed to identify challenges and strategies for prevention, focusing on HPV vaccination and early screening. The literature review (2017–2024) showed that vaccination is effective in reducing infection and precursor lesions but faces limitations such as low coverage, misinformation, and sociocultural barriers. Cytological screening is also essential but presents issues of adherence, quality, and follow-up. Prevention requires public policies, educational campaigns, professional training, and expanded access to vaccines and exams
