PREVALENCE OF GAIT FREEZING SIGNAL IN PATIENTS WITH PRIMARY PARKINSONISM

Abstract
The study aimed to identify and assess the prevalence of the march freezing in individuals with Primary Parkinsonism. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted with 12 participants treated at the teaching clinic of the Faculty of Physiotherapy at Unisanta. Research instruments included a questionnaire for sample characterization, the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), the Hoehn and Yahr Scale, and the Freezing of Gait Questionnaire (NFOG-Q). The results indicated a mild stage of the disease, preserved cognition, and gait freezing in 75% of participants, highlighting the importance of early screening and continuous follow-up to prevent falls and improve quality of life
