DIVERSITY AND DISTRIBUTION OF BRYOPHYTES IN URBAN BEACHES: EMPHASIS ON TOMBO AND GUAIÚBA BEACHES (GUARUJÁ, SP)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study is part of the project “Diversity and distribution of bryophytes in urban beaches of the São Paulo coast”, focusing on Guaiúba and Tombo beaches, in Guarujá, a region with Atlantic Forest remnants. The aim was to assess bryophyte diversity and distribution. Collections were conducted in August 2025, on different phorophytes, following standard methods. Species were identified using specialized literature, the Flora of Brazil, and incorporated into the HUSC/UNISANTA Herbarium. From 75 samples, 14 species were recorded (6 Marchantiophyta and 8 Bryophyta). Guaiúba showed greater diversity; Tombo, lower. Results expand knowledge of bryoflora on urban beaches and reinforce the need for further research
