ADENOID HYPERTROPHY AND IMPACTS ON MOUTH BREATHING AND OCCLUSION: CASE REPORT
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study evaluates the clinical implications of adenoid hypertrophy on breathing and occlusion, as well as the available therapeutic methods. The literature review and case report included 20 articles selected from the PUBMED, LILACS and SCIELO databases. The results indicate that adenoid hypertrophy is associated with mouth breathing and occlusal changes, such as open bite and retrognathia. Adenoidectomy has been shown to be effective in improving breathing and preventing malocclusions. Early diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment are fundamental
