Main Article Content
Abstract
This study analyzed the influence of parental behavior on children’s performance in futsal. The research, descriptive, observational, and quantitative in nature, involved 12 eight-year-old athletes from CT Futsal Vicentino and their 24 guardians, during the 2025 Santos City Open Futsal Cup. Data were collected through technical scouting sheets and parental observation charts, assessing behavioral and performance variables. Results indicated that positive parental attitudes, such as encouragement and support, were associated with improved athletic performance, whereas negative behaviors, such as criticism and excessive pressure, tended to harm children’s performance and self-confidence. It is concluded that parental behavior directly influences children’s performance, highlighting the importance of balanced family relationships within the sports context
