COMPARISON OF VITAMIN C CONCENTRATION BETWEEN ORA-PRO-NOBIS EXTRACT AND EFEVERCENT TABLET
Main Article Content
Abstract
The importance of medicines as a fundamental technology in health care is noted, with the aim of achieving an optimal state of health for patients, minimizing costs and risks. Ora-pro-nóbis, a plant with medicinal properties and high nutritional value, stands out. The research in question aims to compare the vitamin C content between ora-pro-nóbis leaves and effervescent tablets, exploring the potential benefits of this plant on human health. Ora-pro-nóbis leaves were collected, dried and crushed. The glycolic extract was obtained by maceration, and the determination of the vitamin C content was performed using the titration method. The results show that the 2 g vitamin C tablet has the highest concentration of vitamin C, while the EGO01 extract has a higher concentration of vitamin C than the 1 g tablet. The study highlights the plant as an interesting alternative for obtaining vitamin C and suggests the need for further research to explore its nutritional and pharmaceutical properties and optimize vitamin C extraction
