LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE IN NON-VERBAL AUTISM
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article addresses assistance in the language development of non-verbal children with autism, enhancing the Augmentative and Alternative Communication method. With the aim of reducing professional intervention and, thus, encouraging autonomy, an interactive tabletop box with buttons was implemented. These buttons present answers, and if there is a delay in response, a light will be automatically emitted by the button that was pre-selected by the professional, facilitating the identification of the correct answer. This system enables a more inclusive and controlled form of communication, therefore being a viable and efficient alternative for language development
