Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of PET wool and recycled tire rubber mats in reducing impact noise between floors, according to ABNT NBR 15575 (2021). Three reduced-scale prototypes, with and without mats, were built and tested in laboratory following ISO 10140-3 (2021). The rubber mat showed better performance, reaching the intermediate level of the standard and approaching the superior level. Results indicate that recycled materials are a sustainable and efficient alternative for acoustic comfort in residential buildings
