Abstract

In the field of civil construction, over time, we can observe significant transformations in the technologies used in the sector, such as foundations. Following these changes, a new model of reinforced concrete pile with cross-sections in the shape of a star appeared on the market. Therefore, this work have as objective to analyze and compare the cost-benefit in function of strength and market value between star piles, square piles and circular piles. To carry out this research, other literatures that were based on the Decourt-Quaresma method were studied. After the calculations, it was concluded that the star pile does not present a positive differential in the market, being inferior in the cost-benefit aspect to the other piles.
