Main Article Content
Abstract
Accessibility in aquatic environments for children with cerebral palsy is an urgent demand, especially due to the lack of devices that enable leisure with safety and dignity. This study presents the development of a prototype of an amphibious wheelchair for children, integrating ergonomic, therapeutic, and safety aspects. The methodology included a literature review on accessibility, pediatric physiotherapy, and assistive technology, as well as patent analysis and a technical visit to the “Praia Acessível” project in Santos (Brazil), in order to observe practical conditions of inclusion. The result was the construction of a functional model with a lightweight modular structure, floating materials, ergonomic seat, and reduced cost. It is concluded that the proposal contributes to expanding social inclusion and offers an accessible resource for families and institutions
