Abstract

This study analyzes of floods and inundations in the city of Cubatão, located in the Baixada Santista Metropolitan Region (RMBS). It utilizes local hydrometeorological and hydrodynamic data to understand the natural processes that influence neighborhoods with high susceptibility to these events. The work  correlated rainfall data (mm), sea level (m), Cubatão River level (m), and Henry Borden Hydroelectric Power Plant (UHE) outflow (m³/s) with the historical flood and inundation events provided by Cubatão's Civil Defense,  from January 2016 to December 2024. Results show a high correlation between the analyzed variables and the observed events in three regions considered  prone to this events in the city
