SYSTEM FOR THERMOGRAPHIC MONITORING

Abstract
This work presents the development of a low-cost thermographic system for the continuous monitoring of electrical components. The prototype was built using the MLX90640BAA sensor integrated with an ESP32 microcontroller and validated on a test bench with three single-pole circuit breakers under different load conditions. During testing, failures were simulated by loosening terminals, which resulted in temperature increases of up to at the contact points. The system efficiently identified thermal anomalies and demonstrated its feasibility as an economical alternative for predictive and preventive maintenance applications
