Abstract

This article has as general objective analyze the sociocultural relationship of the Brazilian folk with music and as specific objectives examine the formation of the country’s cultural identity, debate the concept of art and relate what has been previously pointed to attend the general objective. It is concluded that, more than the origins of the musical style, identification and dissemination forms influence the media consumption by the public.
