THE STUDY OF ATYPICAL CHILDREN IN THE ADOPTION PROCESS, AND HOW THEY DEAL WITH PARENTAL ABANDONMENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study investigates the adoption process and parental abandonment of atypical children, analyzing how these factors affect their emotional and social development. The main objective is to understand the challenges they face and propose support strategies. To achieve this, questionnaires were applied, psychologists were interviewed, and secondary data were analyzed. Results indicate that prejudice, families’ lack of preparation, and prolonged time in institutions intensify these children’s difficulties. It is concluded that, with proper psychological support and guidance, they can overcome trauma, build bonds, and create new life opportunities
