THE USE OF UPCYCLING IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CLOTHING – RECICLÔ PROJECT
Main Article Content
Abstract
Consumer society is centered on the consumption of material goods and services. Fast Fashion, a fast-cycle fashion trend, encourages the consumption of cheap, low-quality products, generating significant environmental and social impacts. The project aims to minimize these impacts by introducing the concept of upcycling—the reuse of clothing to create new products. The proposal includes raising students' awareness of excessive clothing consumption and its impacts, showcasing garments that utilize the technique, and mobilizing students through donations to the project. The method includes exploratory research, awareness-raising work, and presentation of the technique with students as models, promoting creativity and sustainability
