COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS BETWEEN THE ICF (INSULATED CONCRETE FORMS) CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM AND THE CONVENTIONAL METHOD IN RELATION TO CARBON EMISSIONS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article analyzes and compares the ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) construction system with the conventional method, aiming to understand not only the numbers but also how each choice impacts the future of buildings. Using data from the CECarbon software, it was possible to measure CO² emissions and resource consumption, providing clarity on the gains and losses of each technique (conventional or ICF). Not only ICF, but other sustainable elements such as ribbed slabs, rainwater reuse, and photovoltaic solar panels, emphasize the importance of integrated solutions. The results show that ICF stands out for its efficiency and lower environmental impact, pointing to more responsible approaches for construction projects
