Main Article Content
Abstract
this paper analyzes maersk's initiative in adopting green methanol as an alternative fuel for maritime transport, focusing on the sector's energy transition and compliance with global environmental requirements. the research, of qualitative and exploratory nature, was based on literature review and case study. the results show that although green methanol offers significant environmental advantages, such as lower pollutant emissions, it still faces economic and logistical challenges, especially regarding high costs and the need for adequate infrastructure. it is concluded that, despite the obstacles, maersk represents a milestone in the energy transition of maritime transport, serving as an example for the sector
