INCIDENCE OF BURNOUT IN THE ADULT AUTISTIC COMMUNITY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This project addresses burnout syndrome in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the workplace. Individuals with ASD have deficits in social interaction, communication, and restricted interests, hindering professional relationships, especially in environments without accessibility or understanding of their conditions. Stress can be aggravated by ritualized patterns of behavior and sensory hypersensitivity, increasing the risk of burnout, characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and low dedication to work. The objective is to assess the incidence of burnout in 15 participants over the age of 18 who have been working for at least one year, using a validated questionnaire and Likert scale. The results should highlight specific challenges, levels of exhaustion, and strategies to improve the quality of life of these individuals
