Abstract

This article analyzes the role of the Human Resources sector in promoting gender equity within the organizational environment, identifying effective strategies for the insertion and growth of women in the labor market. The research, qualitative in nature with an exploratory and bibliographic approach, is based on authors such as Joan Acker, Simone de Beauvoir, Heleieth Saffioti, and Guacira Lopes Louro, in addition to data from UN Women, IBGE, and IPEA. The analysis reveals that, despite advances, structural challenges persist, such as wage inequality, low female representation in leadership positions, the glass ceiling, and maternity penalty. The study also presents affirmative practices and policies adopted by companies, including mentoring programs, reserved vacancies, training initiatives, and flexible working hours. It is concluded that the role of HR is strategic for transforming organizational culture and reducing inequalities, requiring institutional commitment to equity, implementation of indicators, and alignment with global agendas such as UN's SDG 5
