EFFECT OF BIOIDENTICAL HORMONE THERAPY IN WOMEN DURING MENOPAUSE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Menopause marks the end of fertility and brings symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, and mood swings, caused by hormonal fluctuations. Bioidentical hormone therapy (BHT), identical to natural hormones, emerges as a safer option to manage these symptoms. This study aims to analyze hormonal balance during menopause, exploring the benefits of BHT. Among the 50 women evaluated, 73.5% reported weight gain and 50% preferred BHT, with 42.5% reporting general satisfaction. Of the BHT users, 62.5% noticed improvement, but 20.8% reported side effects such as hair loss. Low therapy adherence suggests hesitation due to concerns about adverse effects. Open communication between doctors and patients is essential to optimize treatment and provide adequate support for women during this phase
