THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMANS AND BIRDS IN BRAZIL: AN ETHNO-ORNITHOLOGICAL OVERVIEW
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study mapped, by means of a quantitative analysis, the scientific production on Ethnoornithology in Brazil, from 2014 to 2024. The SciELO, Google Scholar and Periódicos CAPES databases were consulted, resulting in a total of 49 articles accepted by the criteria of this bibliographic review, published in Portuguese and English. The analysis revealed a significant growth in scientific production in the area, but with an uneven geographical distribution, and this disparity highlights the need for more research in other regions, such as the Southeast, to value traditional knowledge and contribute to the conservation of Brazilian avifauna.
Keywords: 1. Ethnoornithology, 2. Brazil, 3. Bibliographic Review, 4. Avifauna.
