Abstract

The present work aims to investigate the invisibility of female protagonism in science. To understand the motivation and circumstances surrounding this phenomenon, it was necessary to analyze the development of science as a human construct and, therefore, subject to its sociocultural ideals, through a qualitative study, which included bibliographical review and research. In view of this issue, it mainly addresses patriarchal discourses, which interpret women as a fragile gender with inferior intellect that influenced the way in which science evolved over the years and how it presents itself to this day, configuring stands as an obstacle to the production of current scientists.
