Abstract

In daily healthcare settings, nurses' emotional distress is a structural dimension of their work. Integrative and complementary practices emerge as alternatives for health promotion and disease prevention. This study aims to analyze the effect of aromatherapy as a care tool focused on nurses' emotional health. This is a literature review, covering the period 2018 to 2025, using databases from SciELO, PubMed, LILACS, and Google Scholar. Among the relevant findings, aromatherapy significantly reduces fatigue and improves sleep quality. The conclusion is that aromatherapy reduces stress and anxiety, promotes well-being, and is low-cost and simple to use
