ALERTABUCAL: APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN'S ORAL HEALTH

Abstract

This paper presents the development of "AlertaBucal," an application aimed at promoting children's oral health by monitoring the prolonged use of pacifiers. Considering the negative impacts of this habit, such as dental changes and infections, a solution based on artificial intelligence is proposed. Using the YOLOv8 model, the system performs real-time detection of pacifiers and blocks digital content during their identification. The app was developed in Flutter, supported by tools such as LabelImg and Visual Studio. Adjustments were made to ensure security, usability, and effective operation on mobile devices, contributing to the healthy development of children
