FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE INTERMODAL TERMINAL IN RIBAS DO RIO PARDO (MS) INTEGRATED WITH THE WESTERN RAILWAY NETWORK
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines the feasibility of implementing an intermodal terminal in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul, with integration into the Malha Oeste—currently under re-bidding—and subsequent connection to the Malha Paulista, enabling access to the Port of Santos. The analysis is motivated by regional road bottlenecks, particularly on BR-262, the need to enhance grain outflow, and the expansion projects underway at the Port of Santos to increase capacity. The research consolidates demand and cost data, draws upon official documents, and compares the project to the Rondonópolis Terminal, the largest grain terminal in Latin America. Feasibility studies are conducted to define terminal capacity, estimate required investments, and outline potential implementation strategies
