ROMANTICIZATION OF DRUGS AND EATING DISORDERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Abstract
Adolescents often face the glorification of drug use and eating disorders in their social interactions and on social media. The pressure to meet aesthetic standards and the encouragement of substance use affect the physical and emotional health of these young people. The project analyzed problematic online communities, such as "EDTWT" and "DRUGTWT," where self-destructive behaviors are shared and normalized. Despite the existence of public health services, such as the Psychosocial Care Network, coverage is limited. Therefore, it is urgent to create policies that integrate schools, families, and digital platforms to offer accessible psychological support and regulate content on social media. The conclusion is that, although the solution is complex, continuous support can help prevent eating disorders and addictions among young people
