CURARTE PROJECT: ARTISTIC INTERVENTIONS ON THE PERCEPTION OF MENTAL HEALTH IN WOMEN WITH CHRONIC ILLNESSES
Main Article Content
Abstract
One of the main challenges in public health is non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs), which have a higher incidence in the elderly population. Aging brings changes to support networks, reducing involvement in social activities. This qualitative study aimed to evaluate the influence of artistic interventions on the perception of mental health in women with NCDs. Art workshops were conducted, including discussion circles, painting, and dance, with the participation of seven women aged between 42 and 71. The sessions took place over five consecutive weeks. Art proved to be a significant resource for sharing narratives and strengthening bonds, positively influencing the participants' self-perception of mental health
